News From Neptune are very happy to present their first release of 2022, 'Taxicab To Kolfe Keranio EP'. The brief was fairly straightforward - a dream collaboration between Hailu Mergia and Augustus Pablo, albeit one imagined by a middle class, white male in his pyjamas.

True to form, though, the resulting melange of breezy Ethiopian jazz-informed grooves and wheezy melodica melodies is also touched by the hand/influence of other NfN favourites like Tortoise and The High Llamas, not to mention Mulatu Astatke, Mahmoud Ahmed and The Ex's work with Getatchew Mekuria.

We're hardly striving for big authenticity points here but hopefully the work is imbued with just a little bit of the spirit of the life-affirming sounds which inspired it.

Rory Ballantyne and Craig return with wonderful mastering and cover collage work respectively.
